TUTORIAL: How to transcode DSLR footage

Our Canon DSLR cameras (5D, 7D, and T2i cameras) film in H.264 codecs that don't play nice with FCP7. You will want to transcode (convert) your footage into Apple ProRes 422 LT.

You can either convert using *free* software available for Mac and PC: MPEG STREAMCLIP (It is already installed on all the computers in 130), or you can use Compressor, part of Final Cut Pro Studio suite, and is also installed in 130.
